It has become quite apparent to me that American Music Education as a profession has never been in a better position to reach more students and affect the fabric of our society. It is also quite apparent that if Music Education as a profession does not seriously innovate and begin reaching more people, public school music education will be marginalized and eliminated from school systems all over the country.
Today, I was introduced to a series of recordings of band director emeritus Frank Battisti speaking at a Texas Music Educator conference NINE YEARS AGO about this very topic. Mr. Battisti says it all in this lecture, and quite literally provides a road map for how school performing ensemble programs can personalize music study for every student.
Please visit this special web page that I have created to showcase this amazing set of recordings - Mr. Battisti's vision for school performing arts programs is needed more today than ever.
Please share this information far and wide!
