Every once in a while, you stumble upon a gem.
A fellow band director and friend asked on Facebook, "...does anyone have a score to Andrew Boysen's Kirkpatrick Fanfare handy? I need to know what the exact percussion breakdown is." I love Boysen's work, but that particular piece is one I've never head. So, off to Google I go. When searching under "Kirkpatrick Fanfare instrumentation", I stumble upon a fantastic wiki entitled The Wind Repertory Project.

With over 2200 entries at this writing, this wiki is a fantastic resource for band directors of all levels. Entries are organized by grade level, composers by nationality, soloist with wind band, and form and style. Need a grade 1 piece for your beginner band? Click on the Grade 1 category and read an alphabetical listing. Want to find a piece by a particular composer? Type the composer's name into the search and read a summary with a list of all their pieces that have been entered into the wiki so far, with external links to the composer's website.
Next to the fantastic Teaching Music Through Performance In Band series, this online resource should be bookmarked on every band director and music educator's web browser.
