Today, I attended my school's commencement ceremonies. Our keynote speaker referred to this quote in Latin, which is the motto of the Liverpool Institute, the school where Paul McCartney and George Harrison spent their youth:
Non Nobis Solum Sed Toti Mundo Nati
Which translated into English means "Not for ourselves, but for the whole world were we born." McCartney used this phrase in his Liverpool Oratorio. This phrase very effectively illustrates the main message of several of our speakers today, that tomorrow's leaders affect the world by living with integrity and sharing their passions with the world.
Our keynote speaker added, "If each of us was born for the world, that means that each one of us belongs to eachother, and we must live each day according to that principle."
