Jingle Bells? (2005) Grade 3

Thisis an arrangement based on the recording found on Barbara Streisand's Christmas album circa 1974. Its tongue-in-cheek treatment of the familiar tune is enjoyable for both students and audiences, and it is a good workout for a small band visiting such concepts as 3/4 waltz time and the tonal centers Bb, Db, and D major. It was originally performed with a 9-12th grade band of four flutes, three clarinets, two alto saxophones, two tenor saxophones, one baritone saxophone, six trumpets, two baritones, one tuba, and six percussion (snare part doubled). Live recording by Washington Township High School Wind Ensemble, Sewell, NJ
